The Cleveland Family

Our Partnership with the Cleveland Family

Jackie and Albert Cleveland were among the very first artists we ever worked with when we started our business back in the early 2000s. Over the past 25 years of carrying and sharing their work, our professional collaboration grew into a deep, enduring friendship. Albert was not only an exceptionally talented silversmith but a truly good friend. In those foundational early years, his support and remarkable jewelry played an instrumental role in helping our business take root and thrive. We always committed to ensuring Albert and his family were taken care of, a promise and bond that remains just as strong today as we continue to work closely with Jackie, Raven, and Jacqueline.

Jackie Cleveland

Navajo Silversmith & Master Bead Artisan

Jackie Cleveland is an accomplished Diné (Navajo) artisan from Western New Mexico, widely recognized for her classic Southwestern silversmithing and vibrant beadwork. Deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of the Gallup region, Jackie spent decades working alongside her late husband, the master silversmith Albert Cleveland. Together, their collaborative works bore the well-known AJC hallmark, earning deep respect among collectors of traditional Native American jewelry.

Following Albert’s passing, Jackie continued the family workshop under her own hallmarks (such as JC), honoring their shared legacy while expanding her creative repertoire. Her silverwork features traditional Navajo stampwork, handcrafted crown bezels, repoussé accents, and hand-selected American turquoise stones. In tandem with her bench jeweler skills, Jackie is a skilled beadworker, hand-weaving intricate seed bead patterns on leather-backed cuffs, baby bracelets, and ceremonial accessories. Her work bridges generational technique with timeless Southwest design.

The Next Generation: Raven & Jacqueline Cleveland

Artistic heritage runs deep in the Cleveland home, where Jackie has passed down her knowledge of loom weaving, seed bead design, and bench craft to her family.

  • Raven Cleveland has developed a distinct voice in contemporary Navajo beadwork. Specializing in loomed seed bead headbands, hair combs, barrettes, and leather-lined cuff bracelets, Raven blends bold geometric Diné patterns with vibrant color palettes—from warm earth tones and fire motifs to bright turquoise accents. Each piece is hand-finished with clean leather backing and precise tension, creating durable, everyday wearable art.
  • Jacqueline Cleveland carries forward both the silversmithing eye and intricate beadwork traditions of her parents. Known for fluid color gradients, high-contrast chevron and flame patterns, and finely detailed beaded bracelets, Jacqueline's work captures the spirit of traditional Diné storytelling through a fresh, modern aesthetic.

Together, Jackie, Raven, and Jacqueline represent the enduring strength of Navajo family craftsmanship—preserving traditional methods at the bench while carrying authentic Native handmade art into the future.
